Platform Guidelines

As a valued advisor on our platform, you play a critical role in helping users make informed investment decisions. To ensure a high-quality, compliant, and ethical environment for both advisors and clients, please adhere to the following platform guidelines:

1. Professional Conduct

  • Maintain integrity, honesty, and professionalism in all interactions.

  • Refrain from making exaggerated, misleading, or unwarranted claims.

2. Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure you are compliant with all applicable legal, regulatory, and licensing requirements.

  • Provide only services that are authorized under your registered advisory capacity.

3. Transparency

  • Clearly disclose any relevant qualifications, experience, and scope of services.

  • Communicate your fee structure openly. Clients should always know what they are paying for.

4. Confidentiality & Data Protection

  • Keep all client data strictly confidential.

  • Use client information solely for the purpose of delivering agreed advisory services.

  • Do not share or misuse client data in any form.

5. Independence & Conflicts of Interest

  • Avoid situations that create, or appear to create, conflicts of interest.

  • If a conflict arises, disclose it immediately and take appropriate steps to address it in a transparent manner.

6. Communication Standards

  • Ensure that all advice is delivered clearly, understandably, and within the client’s risk and investment profile.

  • Avoid unsolicited recommendations unless initiated by the client through appropriate platform channels.

7. Documentation & Recordkeeping

  • Maintain adequate records of all client interactions and advice provided via the platform.

  • Ensure that any client-facing documents are clear, accurate, and up to date.

8. Platform Integrity

  • Use the platform only for its intended advisory purposes.

  • Do not manipulate any features, ratings, or feedback systems.

  • Promptly report any system bugs, misuse, or suspicious behavior.

9. Client Relationships

  • Treat all clients respectfully and without discrimination.

  • Do not pressure clients into making decisions or purchases.

  • Respect a client’s right to disengage from the advisory relationship at any time.

10. Continuous Improvement

  • Engage in periodic learning, certification updates, and best practices as relevant.

  • Be open to feedback from clients and platform moderators to improve your services.

 

USE OF PLATFORM – FEATURES AND FACILITIES:
  • TIPSEA hereby grants to you a restricted, non-transferable, license to access your account via the Platform’s web & mobile app interface, which you own or control, to avail of the functions and features in accordance with these T&Cs.

  • Your usage of the Platform will require you to provide to us certain personal information which shall be collected and maintained as per the terms laid down in our privacy policy available at Privacy Policy

  • We shall not mediate or attempt to get involved in and resolve any disputes or disagreements between you and third party/ies.

  • TIPSEA may update the Platform from time to time in order to, inter alia, increase its efficiency, optimize user interface and add new features and/or facilities.

  • We may allow our affiliates or third parties to collect certain information when you visit our Platform through the use of cookies or third-party web beacons.

  • You are required to seek TIPSEA’s permission in case you are writing something associated with the TIPSEA on social media or otherwise. In the event you post any content on your own site or any other third-party sites about us without our prior written permission, we may take strict actions against you.

  • You may choose to, or we may invite you to submit comments or ideas about the Services rendered under these T&Cs, including without limitation about how to improve the Services. By submitting any such ideas, you agree that your disclosure is gratuitous, unsolicited and without restriction and will not place TIPSEA or any of its affiliates or subsidiaries, under any fiduciary or other obligation, and that TIPSEA will be free to use the idea without any additional compensation to you, and/or to disclose the idea on a non-confidential basis or otherwise to anyone. You further acknowledge that, by acceptance of your submission, TIPSEA does not waive any rights to use similar or related ideas previously known to, or developed by employees, or obtained from sources other than you.

  • In the event you have any complaint against the contents (or any portion thereof), including that the contents therein are incorrect or breach the rights of a third party, TIPSEA shall take all commercially reasonable measures to address the same. However, TIPSEA’s sole obligation in this regard shall be to remove such content from the Platform; and the user shall have no further cause of action against TIPSEA.

USER GUIDELINES:
  • The Platform is made available to you for your own personal and non-commercial use alone. You shall not allow third parties to: (i) make and/or distribute copies of the Platform or any deliverable generated by the Platform; (ii) attempt to copy, reproduce, alter, modify and/or reverse engineer the Platform; and/or (iii) create derivative works of the Platform.

  • You accept that any and all operations emanating from your Device shall be assumed to have been initiated by you.

  • You shall not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of our content that is available on the Platform. Also, you shall not reverse engineer or reverse compile our technology that is available on the Platform.

  • You shall request TIPSEA, to block the Account and change the passcode/password immediately for the Account, if your Device has been lost or stolen.

  • You are responsible for any and all activities that occur in your Account. You agree to notify TIPSEA immediately of any unauthorized use of the Account or any other breach of security. TIPSEA shall not be liable for any loss to you or your organization owing to negligent actions or a failure on your part to inform TIPSEA, within a reasonable time, about loss or theft of your Device and/or any unauthorized access in your Account, either with or without your knowledge.

  • You shall be liable for losses incurred by TIPSEA or any other party due to a third party’s use of the Account. You shall not use any other person’s account at any time, without the permission of the account holder and TIPSEA.

  • TIPSEA shall make all reasonable efforts to ensure that your information is kept confidential. However, TIPSEA shall not be responsible for any disclosure or leakage of confidential information and/or loss or damage of the Device due to theft, negligence or failure on your part to practice safe computing.

  • You shall ensure that while using the functions and features, all prevailing and applicable laws, rules and regulations, shall at all times, be strictly complied with by you and TIPSEA shall not be liable in any manner whatsoever for default of any nature, by you, regarding the same.

  • You understand and acknowledge that upon using the Platform, you authorize us to access third party sites designated by you, on your behalf, to retrieve such information requested by you, and to register for accounts requested by you. For all purposes hereof, you hereby grant us a limited powers and hereby authorize us with the full power of substitution and resubstitution, for you and in your name, place and stead, in any and all capacities, to access third party internet sites, servers or documents, retrieve information, and use your information, all as described above, with the full power and authority to do and perform each and every act and thing requisite and necessary to be done in connection with Services and facilities available on the Platform, as fully to all intents and purposes as you might or could do in person. You acknowledge and agree that when we access and retrieve information from third party sites, we are acting as your agent, and not the agent or on behalf of the third party. You agree that such third parties shall be entitled to rely on the foregoing authorization, agency granted by you.

  • You hereby acknowledge and agree that TIPSEA shall not be liable for any delay or failure of any transaction undertaken by you using our Services.

  • You hereby agree and express your voluntary, unequivocal and informed consent to your personal data, investment details or financial information (including such data as may be designated as ‘personally identifiable data’ under the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 or other applicable law), being processed, disclosed and/or transferred by TIPSEA to third-party entities.

SERVICE PROVIDER PLATFORM GUIDELINES:

 As a registered advisor on TIPSEA, you are a key part of our mission to make trustworthy financial advice accessible to all. These guidelines are designed to maintain a high-quality, transparent, and compliant environment for both advisors and clients. By using TIPSEA, you agree to uphold the following standards:

1. Professional Conduct
  • Always act with honesty, transparency, and professionalism.

  • Avoid exaggerated, misleading, or unverifiable claims in your advice or communication.

  • Deliver advice that is aligned with the client’s goals, needs, and risk profile.

2. Regulatory Compliance
  • You must be an active SEBI-registered Research Analyst or Investment Advisor.

  • Offer only those services that fall within your SEBI-registered category and license.

  • Stay current with all regulatory and compliance obligations.

3. Transparency
  • Clearly disclose your qualifications, experience, and scope of services offered.

  • Present your subscription fees in an open and upfront manner—clients should always know what they are paying for and why.

  • Avoid bundling or hiding charges in ways that may mislead users.

 4. Client Data & Confidentiality
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information.

  • Use client data solely for the purpose of providing advisory services via TIPSEA.

  • Do not share, sell, or use client data for any unauthorized activity.

5. Independence & Conflicts of Interest
  • Avoid any real or perceived conflict of interest in your advisory relationship.

  • If a conflict arises, disclose it to the client immediately and take steps to address it transparently.

  • Maintain independence in your recommendations; avoid bias driven by commissions, affiliations, or partnerships.

6. Communication Standards
  • Communicate in a clear, respectful, and jargon-free manner.

  • Do not make unsolicited investment recommendations outside of TIPSEA.

  • Ensure all client communication happens via approved channels and is appropriate for their level of knowledge and risk tolerance.

 7. Documentation & Recordkeeping
  • Maintain proper records of client interactions and advice provided through TIPSEA, as required under SEBI regulations.

  • Ensure that all reports, analyses, and content shared with clients are accurate and up to date.

8. Platform Use & Integrity
  • Use TIPSEA only for its intended purpose: to provide registered investment or research advisory services.

  • Do not manipulate platform features such as ratings, reviews, or engagement metrics.

  • Report bugs, misuse, or suspicious activity promptly to the TIPSEA support team.

 9. Client-Centric Relationships
  • Treat every client with respect, fairness, and without discrimination.

  • Do not pressure clients into subscriptions, trades, or decisions.

  • Respect a client’s right to discontinue the advisory relationship at any point.

10. External Marketing & Promotions
  • You may promote your TIPSEA profile on external channels (e.g., social media, blogs), but:

  • Do not misrepresent your role, performance, or registration status.

  • Avoid sharing screenshots or testimonials that could violate SEBI’s advertisement guidelines.

  • Clearly state that clients must subscribe through TIPSEA to access your services.

11. Commitment to Growth
  • Stay updated with relevant SEBI guidelines, continuing education, and evolving industry best practices.

  • Be open to constructive feedback from clients and the TIPSEA team to improve your services.
